Welcome to italianize yourself!
Our italian course is intended for everyone who wants to learn to speak Italian, but may not be very familiar with grammar. Our free online Italian lessons are designed so that you can deductively understand Italian grammar rules from dialogues and readings, and reproduce them in the practice section. We've set up our blog with clips of famous films that have been dubbed into Italian. Try to listen and get an ear for the language. |

Our goal is to make it fun and easy for you to learn Italian!
In addition to our welcome note above, I would like to take the time to
explain how we have set up our Italian course, and the method that we use to
help you learn Italian. We try to base our lessons off of the Communicative method oflearning a language. We believe that it is important for the student attempting to learn Italian to develop an
understanding of the language and how it works, without direct translations. Because
of this, we try to use visuals to help you see what the words mean, instead of just
being told. We at Italianize Yourself believe that this mimics how people learn their
primary language naturally.
Imagine if you were dropped off in a remote part of the world, without pocket translators or dictionaries. If the locals did not speak English, you would be forced to adapt and learn their language in order to survive. We attempt to make you "survive" by keeping English to a minimum and allowing you to find patterns and associations within the language. This may take some getting used to, but if you stick with it you can achieve your goal of learning Italian.
Italian is one of the most beautiful languages in the world, and with a little effort you should be able to communicate effectively. We update or course frequently, and will have a total of 40 free Italian lessons when completed. Let's go to lesson 1
